The Amélio Engagement Model

A Rigorous, Human, and Scientifically Validated Approach

Amélio surveys are designed not only to measure engagement levels but also to identify the organizational levers that drive motivation, collaboration, and well-being at work. ✅

We offer a comprehensive framework that is both scientifically grounded and highly adaptable, allowing each organization to obtain a meaningful, context-specific measure without imposing a rigid process.

Theoretical Foundations of the Model

The Amélio Engagement Model is inspired by the Job Demands–Resources Model developed by Arnold B. Bakker and Evangelia Demerouti, as well as by Wilmar Schaufeli’s research on engagement and burnout.

This framework establishes a clear relationship between:

  • Job Demands (e.g., workload, role ambiguity, work–life balance): factors that can increase stress and the risk of burnout.

  • Organizational Resources (e.g., social support, autonomy, recognition, shared values): elements that protect psychological health and foster engagement.

Amélio measures 38 sub-factors, grouped under 12 engagement factors, derived from this approach.

Each represents an organizational demand or resource linked to employees’ energy, well-being, and engagement levels.

❌ Unlike other models, Amélio does not evaluate personal traits such as resilience, optimism, or personality, since these cannot be measured reliably in a workplace setting.

Instead, the model focuses exclusively on modifiable, actionable organizational factors that an organization can truly influence.

Neutrality and Question Quality

All Amélio questionnaires are developed following the best research and survey design practices to ensure validity and reliability. 👌

Each question is:

  • Neutral, clear, and descriptive

  • Free from value judgments, emotional wording, or bias

  • Designed to measure a single dimension at a time, minimizing ambiguity

This level of rigour guarantees that results remain comparable across time and that the analysis is credible and trustworthy.

We also guide clients who wish to adapt the wording of certain questions to their context, ensuring any adjustments maintain validity and neutrality.

Validation and Statistical Robustness

The Amélio model has undergone several statistical analyses confirming its psychometric reliability.

➡️ We applied rigorous statistical methods adapted to our model’s structure, including:

  • Verification of data normality (skewness and kurtosis between -2 and +2)

  • Tests confirming no multicollinearity, ensuring that each factor measures a distinct dimension

  • Multiple regression analyses illustrating how the factors explain 39% to 49% of the variance in key outcome variables

These results demonstrate the strength and internal consistency of the Amélio model, confirming that its factors are powerful predictors of engagement and organizational climate.

A Scientific Model, Adapted to Every Culture

Amélio integrates scientific rigour with practical flexibility because every organizational culture is unique. 💫

The model serves as a solid foundation that still allows for customization.

Organizations can:

  • Adjust most questions to reflect their own context

  • Add organization-specific dimensions

  • Exclude certain areas if they are not relevant

This balance ensures that the model remains scientific yet adaptable, structured yet human.

In Summary

The Amélio Engagement Model combines science and practicality.

It is grounded in well-established theories, supported by robust statistical validation, and crafted with precise, neutral wording, all while remaining accessible, flexible, and action-oriented.

🎯 Our goal: To help every organization turn engagement measurement into a true driver of motivation, collaboration, and sustainable team development.
