Complete Manager Feedback

Learn how to complete Manager Feedback in Amelio to review an employee’s professional development, recognize strengths, and identify development opportunities using competencies and observable behaviours.

Prepare for a Meaningful Review

A Manager Feedback review is more than completing a questionnaire. It’s an opportunity to step back, recognize an employee’s progress, and prepare for a meaningful professional development conversation.

Before getting started, make sure the employee has the appropriate competency profile. This ensures the review focuses on the competencies that matter most for their role.

Depending on the activities completed in Amelio, you may also have access to:

  • the employee’s Self-Assessment

  • feedback received through 360 Feedback

  • an AI-generated summary of the available information

Use this context to consider the employee’s professional journey as a whole rather than relying only on recent events or impressions.

  6. Review your responses and make any changes (if applicable)

  7. Submit your feedback

Review Competencies from Different Angles

Each competency includes several questions designed to explore it from different perspectives. Answer each question based on your observations and the context available to you.

Amelio then combines the responses to provide a more complete picture of the employee’s development for that competency.

Why several questions?

Because a competency is rarely reflected in a single behaviour. Looking at it from different angles provides a more representative view and gives you better reference points for your development conversation.

Good to know: Focus on what you have observed throughout the review period. Concrete examples can help connect your responses to the employee’s day-to-day experience.

Add Context with Comments

Numbers and structured responses tell part of the story. Your comments can add the context that makes feedback truly useful.

Whenever possible, include specific observations or examples to help the employee understand what stood out.

Consider highlighting:

  • a strength worth continuing to build on

  • progress you’ve noticed

  • a behaviour that had a positive impact

  • an opportunity to develop further

The goal is to give the employee feedback they can understand, discuss, and turn into meaningful next steps.

Once your Manager Feedback review is complete, you can turn those insights into a productive development conversation.
