Defining the target audience for certain questions.

This article discusses how to define the target audience for certain questions.

Updated over a year ago

Through your Amelio surveys, it's possible to target the audience for specific questions exclusively, thus creating an even more precise segmentation.

This involves defining questions that should be asked to particular groups of employees.

For example, you could send a survey to the marketing department, but include specific questions in the survey intended only for the designers within that department.

If you wish to target a specific audience for the entire survey, you can refer to the Survey Audience section of the following article: Survey Settings.

Setting the audience for certain questions

Here are the steps to set the audience per question:

  1. Go to the survey settings by clicking on its title.

  2. Click on the Targeted Audience tab.

  3. Select a question.

  4. Define the audience for that question. You can select attribute values from your list of employees such as departments, locations, custom attributes you have created, etc. Note that you cannot select a manager, an age group or length of service.

  5. Click Save.

Only the targeted groups and exclusively those groups will be eligible to receive the question that has been set.

Hovering over a question with a defined targeted audience will reveal two options:

  1. Ask the question to everyone: allows you to remove the targeted audience for a question.

  2. Edit: allows you to modify the audience, for example, to add or remove a targeted group.

Note: This feature can be used for all sending methods except for universal links since the attributes used to target the audience per question are requested at the end of the survey.
