Understanding the level of employee engagement
Updated over a week ago

Amélio surveys measure employees' perceptions and concerns regarding the work climate to help you understand what needs to be prioritized for improvement, with the level of engagement being the first indicator to monitor as it represents the overall appreciation score of employees for all dimensions important to understanding and improving their experience within the organization.

Some details on how to calculate engagement

  • The level of engagement is the average of the different engagement factors, which are the 12 measurement points of the employee experience.

  • The engagement factor score is calculated based on the average of the associated sub-factors.

  • The sub-factor score is calculated based on the average of the questions assigned to it.

📌Note: It is possible that the score for some sub-factors may not be displayed ("n.a."). This simply means that there are not enough respondents for the score to be considered credible.

However, these results are summed and compiled into the overall factor score.

  • The score of a survey question is calculated based on the distribution of responses among the number of possible options, in order to have an average that is always comparable from one question to another. This article presents more details on the methodology of calculating the average of a question.

Therefore, the level of engagement can be understood as the overall appreciation score of employees for all important dimensions to understand and improve their experience within the organization.

Important! If you conduct an ad hoc survey on a specific topic (e.g. only on the well-being and recognition factor), the overall engagement level will only represent the average of the factors measured in that survey, and therefore, it is not a complete indicator of engagement.
