Solution: Use digits only (numbers) and include the country's long-distance code before the phone number.
For example:
Canada and the United States: 1
Example: 15555555555
Phone numbers that contain special characters, spaces, or formatting will generate an error, such as:
(555) 555-5555
555-555-5555
514 555 5555
+1 (514) 555-5555
This error will not prevent the employee list from being imported.
You have two options:
Cancel the import, update the phone numbers in your Excel file, and import the file again
Continue with the import and manually update the affected employee profiles afterward
If you choose the second option, note the employees with invalid phone numbers before completing the import so you may update their profiles later.
