Modify Engagement Factors and Sub-factors

Each survey question is assigned to an engagement factor and sub-factor. You can change these assignments at any time, even while a survey is in progress.

Each question can be assigned to an engagement factor and a specific sub-factor. This link will lead you to the list of the 12 engagement factors and their respective sub-factors.

When should you modify a factor?

You may want to update a factor if:

  • a question has been assigned to the wrong factor

  • you want to better organize your questionnaire and results

  • you would like your reports to reflect a different engagement category

How to modify a factor

  1. Open the survey

  2. Click Edit Survey

  3. Go to the Questionnaire step

  4. Edit the desired question

  5. Select the new engagement factor or sub-factor

  6. Save your changes

How does this affect results?

Unlike changing the wording of a question, changing its engagement factor is retroactive.

This means:

  • previously collected results will be recalculated

  • historical survey reports will be updated

  • future surveys will also use the new factor assignment

This change only affects how results are categorized. Employees' responses are not modified.
