Customize Survey Appearance

This article explains how to customize the appearance of surveys in Amélio.

Amélio allows you to tailor the survey’s background, layout, welcome page, and closing message to create a more engaging experience from start to finish. Each of the settings below can be accessed in the same area of the platform

How to Access Appearance Settings

  1. In the left-hand menu, go to the Surveys tab and click the title of the survey you want to edit.

  2. Select the Settings tab.

  3. You are free to enable or disable the options according to your preferences.

Choose a Display Theme

You can choose from two survey display options according to your preferences.

Distinctive elements of the minimalist display:

  1. The progress bar is located at the bottom of the page.

  2. There is no distinct background behind the questions.

  3. The buttons to move to the next/previous question appear in the sidebars.

Distinctive elements of the display with a white background:

  1. The progress bar is located under the question.

  2. A white background surrounds the question.

  3. You can move to the next/previous question using the buttons located directly under the question.

Personalize the Welcome Screen

You can customize the survey welcome page to reflect your company culture and include any introductory details you want respondents to see.

You can also edit the closing message respondents see at the end of the survey.

Add a Personal Touch to Your Thank-You Message

Turn the final screen into a meaningful and memorable moment. The closing message becomes much more than a simple “thank you.” It can be used to surprise respondents, establish a ritual, or extend the engagement journey.

Here are a few examples:

  • Share a short, inspiring reflection

  • Introduce a collective challenge

  • Explain the next steps in the process

  • Reinforce a key organizational commitment

This approach helps maximize the impact of the survey experience, right through to the end.

Change the Survey Background

By default, survey backgrounds in Amélio are randomly selected from a set of images. You can upload your own image to better represent your brand, mission, and values, for example:

  • A branded background with your company colours

  • A team photo from a company event

  • A photo of your modern office space

We recommend updating the background periodically to keep the experience fresh.

Note: The minimum resolution is 1920 x 1080.

Enable Language Selector

If your survey has translations, activating the language selector allows respondents to choose their preferred language when completing the survey.

Individual Display Settings (During the Survey)

In order to adapt the survey to each person's preferences, it's possible for an employee to modify certain parameters when they complete their survey.


To access these features, they can simply click on Settings located in the top right corner of their survey.

These features include:

  1. Automatic transition to the next question

  2. Display style (Minimalist or White Background)

  3. Language choice (if the language selector is enabled)

Automatically switch to the next question after the user has selected an answer

You can enable automatic progression to the next question once a response is selected. This reduces the number of clicks and speeds up the survey experience.

Note that this setting may reduce the number of open-ended comments received.

Preview the Survey

After making changes, preview your survey to ensure the appearance and settings meet your needs.
