It's possible to import questions in bulk using the Excel template compatible with the platform. This feature allows you to add new statements to an existing survey, but does not modify the questions already present in your survey.
You may not want to add additional questions to one of your existing questionnaires but rather create a new survey that exclusively contains the questions you'll import.
In that case, you can follow the steps presented in the following article: Create an Ad Hoc Survey in 5 Minutes.
Download the Excel template
To begin importing your survey questions, download the Amelio import template.
Next, follow the steps below to prepare your file.
Prepare the Excel template
You can prepare your statements and incorporate them into our Excel template.
Question - French
You can prepare your statements and incorporate them into our Excel template. The [company] tag can be used in your statements since it will automatically be replaced by the name of your organization in the surveys.
Question - English
If you're using a bilingual version of your survey, you can already include the translated version of your survey statements.
If you're using only the French version, you can simply copy and paste the question in the French column.
Question Type
You can select the question type using the dropdown menu. The choice of question type will give you access to the sections to complete for response options.
The following question types do not require response options since they will be automatically programmed: Text, Yes or No, Satisfaction.
Factor and Sub-Factor
In the dropdown menu, you can select the engagement factor to which you want to assign your statement.
Once you've selected the engagement factor, you can then select the sub-factor of engagement. The file will only present you with the sub-factors associated with the engagement factor you've selected.
Questions on a scale
For questions on a scale, you'll need to indicate the values of the two endpoints of the scale as well as the associated labels.
Important! The platform calculates the score of a statement by considering the minimum as negative for engagement and the maximum as positive. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the question's phrasing to ensure that the engagement calculation is adequate. It won't be possible to change the question type or the order of response choices once the statement has been added to your survey.
As with the question statement, if you're not using the English version of the survey, you can copy and paste the label text in French into the columns reserved for translation.
Multiple Choice or Checkbox Question
If you've selected the question types Multiple Choice or Checkbox, you can list the response options in the appropriate cells.
Your response options should be delimited by a semicolon ; so that the platform recognizes the different possible choices.
When adding the translated version of the response choices, make sure to respect the same order in both languages.
As with the question statement, if you're not using the English version of the survey, you can copy and paste the label text in French into the columns reserved for translation.
Important! For a Multiple Choice question, the order of options must necessarily be from most negative to most positive to respect the logic of calculating the question's score.
For a Checkbox question, the order of options will be reversed when the survey is administered.
The first choice in this cell will be the last choice in the list in the survey. For example, if you want to add the other option and want it to appear at the end of the list, you must place it first in the cell.
Attention
If you use the "other" choice, if managers do not have access to comments in Permissions, they will only have access to the proportion of respondents who have chosen "Other". They will not be able to consult the answers added in comments.
Note, however, that the responses for this type of question have no impact on the calculation of engagement.
Question Order
This section is optional and will be useful if you want to integrate conditional questions. You can enter the order of the questions so that after the import, these questions are already associated.
After the import, you'll only need to add the conditions to these questions (e.g., sub-question asked when the score answered is less than 5).
Importing the File
You can import your Excel question bank by going to the Questionnaire section of your survey and clicking on Import Questions.
The platform will indicate if errors are detected in your file, and you can review everything before importing your file.
Finalizing the Statement Preparation
Once the import is complete, your questions will be automatically added to the survey.
For Checkbox questions, you'll need to manually program the maximum number of allowed choices when the employee answers this question.
You can also edit the statement to add the maximum number of choices.
If you have imported conditional questions, you can create the link between the two statements by editing the sub-question.
You can determine its parent question.
In any case, you can indicate under what condition it should appear.
Adding KPI Questions
All KPI questions must be added directly through the platform: Adding KPI Questions
